"Wood sculpture is my key to a creative space, my way down the rabbit hole, my sanctuary. Wood carving started it. From the beginning the process of creating a three dimensional object was intriguing. And, over the months to come, that process has become a challenge, leading me from hobby to art. Sculpting wood fills me with a sense of accomplishment and sincerity, and has proven a most amenable vehicle for translating inner vision to outer reality. I sculpt from the inside out. Though I work purposefully, consciously employing both traditional and innovative techniques, my unconscious is the uncontested project manager. The solid, three dimensional nature of this work frees my imagination and provides many opportunities for joyful accident and refinement to influence the finished product."
